My personal opinion is that it's a very nice tape for those who'd like to
refresh their memory on what was taught or to see what was taught in one
of the other classes. As one who was unable to make it to the workshop, I
found it to be very helpful viewing the classes for the first time. From
watching it, I actually did pick up some good pointers and recommend this
video to those who did not attend the workshop as well. Also, I was pleased
with the way the Jack and Jill contest came out. In past competitions, it's
very hard to see everyone dancing because the floor gets so crowded. I shot
this one from up high, so I can see everyone dancing individually, even on
the crowded floor. I'll point this out in the screen shot, because it's awesome
that you can actually pick who you want to watch, rather than just whoever
happened to be dancing in front of the camera.
The video runs about 51 minutes in length and is more
of a video "notebook" than an instructional video. The instructors reviewed
what they taught in their classes and gave comments as they felt necessary,
such as breaking moves down, showing from a different angle, and emphasizing
particulars. It's helpful for those who would like to know what was taught
in a different class that was going on simultaneously, and for those who
need a visual reminder of what they learned in their classes.
